Reports to: Afterschool Site Leader
Position Overview
The Afterschool Instructor provides academic instruction and support to help students strengthen their learning and reach academic success. Instructors work closely with program leadership to deliver engaging lessons, track student progress, and support data collection for program effectiveness.
This position is ideal for educators or instructional professionals who are passionate about teaching and student achievement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high quality homework assistance and academic support
- Create and deliver grade appropriate educational content
- Provide individual and group instruction using interactive learning strategies
- Plan and facilitate educational activities and enrichment opportunities
- Assess and record student progress and academic data
- Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment
- Collaborate with parents, staff, and community partners to support student success
Qualifications
- Certified teacher or documented professional training qualifying you to teach K–12 academic skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
- Strong knowledge of effective teaching practices
- Ability to obtain the required 45 hour childcare license
- Ability to pass a background check
- Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Valid driver’s license required
