Miami-Dade NAACP Youth Council

RAISING BLACK LEADERS

Miami Dade NAACP Youth Council is established to create a long-term approach to combat systemic racism by focusing on creating leaders in the fields of politics, criminal justice, and advocacy.

Founded by The Resource Room’s Executive Director, Ebony Johnson, with the support of the Miami Dade NAACP, anchor institutions, and concerned community leaders, this initiative seeks to identify the “Talented & Ambitious Youth” and support students of color by providing the wrap-around resources they need to graduate from high school and college, with continuing support for their career endeavors.

Memberships are $10/Year

We want to ensure a society in which all individuals have equal rights without discrimination based on race by developing a new generation of civil rights and community leaders.

Education For All Scholarship

This scholars program provides ten (10) student scholars with the support needed to successfully navigate high school and college while developing problem-solving, critical thinking, and other life skills that will become increasingly important as they transition to working professionals.

TEENS ADVOCATING TOGETHER

'Teens Advocating Together' includes 10th-grade to 12th-grade students from the African American and Jewish communities of Miami-Dade County. Through professional-led programs and workshops, students build relationships and have access to opportunities to learn about and support each other's communities.

RAISING BLACK LEADERS

Raising Black Leaders empowers students through advocacy training, Black history education, political literacy, networking, career guidance, community projects, college mentoring, internships, and job placements. Scholarships start in 9th grade and can be earned yearly, fostering future leaders in public service, law, education, and health.
